Erasmus+ for vocational education
In the era of globalization international work experience is often a relevant part of a job specification as working abroad improves the cultural understanding as well as the language skills. Furthermore, working abroad opens up new perspectives that schools and companies at home may not provide.
Many apprentices are aware of these requirements but can neither afford an international internship nor do they know how to organize it.
Erasmus+ for vocational education helps students currently enrolled in vocational education and training (VET) to gain valuable work experience by supporting work placements abroad.
Since 2011 the bbs1celle have organized international, EU-supported work placements for annually up to 25 vocational students of the apprenticeships industrial clerks, office management clerks and wholesale and foreign trade clerks. The placements need to be approved by the training organization/ company. They take place in the second year of education and last three weeks. After the internship the participants have to hand in a report on their work experience to the EU and receive hereafter a mobility pass.
So far students have been sent to various locations in England (London, Guilford, Bristol and Torquay). Even after Brexit these extraordinary educational opportunities will remain.
Interested students should fulfil following requirements:
- Minimum age 18 years
- EU citizen
- Cultural awareness
- Intermediate to advanced level of English
- Willingness to catch up on missed lessons
